School Bus Driver Certification

The 40 hour course begins Saturday, October 25, 2025, and runs as follows:
Saturday, October 25 – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday through Thursday, October 27–30 – 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 1 – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Monday and Tuesday, November 3–4 – 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This schedule provides the full 40 hours required to complete the course. You must complete this in-person training or an approved online course before taking the CDL pre-trip inspection and driving exams.
Valid driver’s license
At least 18 years old
No felony convictions in the past 10 years
CDL Class A or B permit with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Completed DL-18 form from DPS submitted at least one week before class begins
